F5 Big-ip Advanced Firewall Manager

On BIG-IP 14.1.0-14.1.0.5, 14.0.0-14.0.0.4, 13.0.0-13.1.1.4, 12.1.0-12.1.4.1, and 11.5.1-11.6.4, when the BIG-IP system is licensed with Appliance mode, user accounts with Administrator and Resource Administrator roles can bypass Appliance mode restrictions.

On BIG-IP 15.0.0-15.0.1, 14.1.0-14.1.2, 14.0.0-14.0.1, 13.1.0-13.1.3.1, 12.1.0-12.1.5, and 11.5.1-11.6.5, vCMP hypervisors are incorrectly exposing the plaintext unit key for their vCMP guests on the filesystem.

BIG-IP tmsh vulnerability

The SSL profiles component in F5 BIG-IP LTM, APM, and ASM 10.0.0 through 10.2.4 and 11.0.0 through 11.5.1, AAM 11.4.0 through 11.5.1, AFM 11.3.0 through 11.5.1, Analytics 11.0.0 through 11.5.1, Edge Gateway, WebAccelerator, and WOM 10.1.0 through 10.2.4 and 11.0.0 through 11.3.0, PEM 11.3.0 through 11.6.0, and PSM 10.0.0 through 10.2.4 and 11.0.0 through 11.4.1 and BIG-IQ Cloud and Security 4.0.0 through 4.4.0 and Device 4.2.0 through 4.4.0, when using TLS 1.x before TLS 1.2, does not properly check CBC padding bytes when terminating connections, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain cleartext data via a padding-oracle attack, a variant of CVE-2014-3566 (aka POODLE). NOTE: the scope of this identifier is limited to the F5 implementation only. Other vulnerable implementations should receive their own CVE ID, since this is not a vulnerability within the design of TLS 1.x itself.

On F5 BIG-IP 16.1.x versions prior to 16.1.2.2, 15.1.x versions prior to 15.1.5.1, 14.1.x versions prior to 14.1.4.6, 13.1.x versions prior to 13.1.5, and all versions of 12.1.x and 11.6.x, a directory traversal vulnerability exists in iControl SOAP that allows an authenticated attacker with at least guest role privileges to read wsdl files in the BIG-IP file system. BIG-IP LTM, AAM, AFM, Analytics, APM, ASM, Link Controller, and PEM 12.0.0 before HF1, when the TCP profile for a virtual server is configured with Congestion Metrics Cache enabled, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) restart) via crafted ICMP packets, related to Path MTU (PMTU) discovery.

Incomplete blacklist vulnerability in the Configuration utility in F5 BIG-IP LTM, Analytics, APM, ASM, GTM, Link Controller, and PSM 11.x before 11.2.1 HF11, 11.3.x, 11.4.0 before HF8, and 11.4.1 before HF6; BIG-IP AAM 11.4.0 before HF8 and 11.4.1 before HF6; BIG-IP AFM and PEM 11.3.x, 11.4.0 before HF8, and 11.4.1 before HF6; and BIG-IP Edge Gateway, WebAccelerator, and WOM 11.x before 11.2.1 HF11 and 11.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to upload files via uploadImage.php.

BIG-IP Configuration utility vulnerability

In BIG-IP 14.0.0-14.0.0.2 or 13.0.0-13.1.1.1, iControl and TMSH usage by authenticated users may leak a small amount of memory when executing commands

In BIG-IP 14.0.0-14.0.0.2, 13.0.0-13.1.0.7, 12.1.0-12.1.3.5, 11.6.1-11.6.3.2, or 11.5.1-11.5.8 or Enterprise Manager 3.1.1, malformed requests to the Traffic Management User Interface (TMUI), also referred to as the BIG-IP Configuration utility, may lead to disruption of TMUI services. This attack requires an authenticated user with any role (other than the No Access role). The No Access user role cannot login and does not have the access level to perform the attack.

A local file vulnerability exists in the F5 BIG-IP Configuration utility on versions 13.0.0, 12.1.0-12.1.2, 11.6.1-11.6.3.1, 11.5.1-11.5.5, or 11.2.1 that exposes files containing F5-provided data only and do not include any configuration data, proxied traffic, or other potentially sensitive customer data.

In versions 15.0.0-15.1.0.5, 14.1.0-14.1.2.7, 13.1.0-13.1.3.4, 12.1.0-12.1.5.1, and 11.6.1-11.6.5.1, a vulnerability in the BIG-IP AFM Configuration utility may allow any authenticated BIG-IP user to perform a read-only blind SQL injection attack.

On all versions of 17.0.x, 16.1.x, 15.1.x, 14.1.x, 13.1.x, 12.1.x, and 11.6.x on F5 BIG-IP, an authenticated iControl REST user with at least guest role privileges can cause processing delays to iControl REST requests via undisclosed requests. The automatic signature update functionality in the (1) Phone Home feature in F5 BIG-IP LTM, AAM, AFM, Analytics, APM, GTM, and Link Controller 11.5.0 through 11.6.0, ASM 10.0.0 through 11.6.0, and PEM 11.3.0 through 11.6.0 and the (2) Call Home feature in ASM 10.0.0 through 11.6.0 and PEM 11.3.0 through 11.6.0 does not properly validate server SSL certificates, which allows remote attackers to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks via a crafted certificate.

In versions 16.0.0-16.0.0.1 and 15.1.0-15.1.1, on specific BIG-IP platforms, attackers may be able to obtain TCP sequence numbers from the BIG-IP system that can be reused in future connections with the same source and destination port and IP numbers. Only these platforms are affected: BIG-IP 2000 series (C112), BIG-IP 4000 series (C113), BIG-IP i2000 series (C117), BIG-IP i4000 series (C115), BIG-IP Virtual Edition (VE).

On BIG-IP versions 15.0.0-15.0.1.1, 14.1.0-14.1.2.2, 14.0.0-14.0.1, 13.1.0-13.1.3.1, 12.1.0-12.1.5, and 11.5.2-11.6.5 and BIG-IQ versions 6.0.0-6.1.0 and 5.2.0-5.4.0, a user is able to obtain the secret that was being used to encrypt a BIG-IP UCS backup file while sending SNMP query to the BIG-IP or BIG-IQ system, however the user can not access to the UCS files.

On BIG-IP AFM 15.0.0-15.0.1, 14.0.0-14.1.2, 13.1.0-13.1.3.1, and 12.1.0-12.1.5, a vulnerability in the AFM configuration utility may allow any authenticated BIG-IP user to run an SQL injection attack.

On versions 16.0.x before 16.0.1.1, 15.1.x before 15.1.2.1, 14.1.x before 14.1.4, 13.1.x before 13.1.3.6, 12.1.x before 12.1.5.3, and 11.6.x before 11.6.5.3, the upload functionality in BIG-IP Advanced WAF and BIG-IP ASM allows an authenticated user to upload files to the BIG-IP system using a call to an undisclosed iControl REST endpoint. BIG-IP and BIG-IQ iControl SOAP vulnerability

This may allow attackers on an adjacent system to force BIG-IP into processing packets with spoofed source addresses.

On all versions of 16.1.x, 15.1.x, 14.1.x, 13.1.x, 12.1.x, and 11.6.x of F5 BIG-IP (fixed in 17.0.0), a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability exists in an undisclosed page of the BIG-IP Configuration utility. This vulnerability allows an attacker to run a limited set of commands: ping, traceroute, and WOM diagnostics. BIG-IP TMM Vulnerability CVE-2022-41983

On BIG-IP versions 15.0.0-15.0.1, 14.1.0.2-14.1.2.2, 14.0.0.5-14.0.1, 13.1.1.5-13.1.3.1, 12.1.4.1-12.1.5, 11.6.4-11.6.5, and 11.5.9-11.5.10, the access controls implemented by scp.whitelist and scp.blacklist are not properly enforced for paths that are symlinks. This allows authenticated users with SCP access to overwrite certain configuration files that would otherwise be restricted.

BIG-IP Configuration utility vulnerability
