The navigator.sendBeacon implementation in Mozilla Firefox before 35.0, Firefox ESR 31.x before 31.4, Thunderbird before 31.4, and SeaMonkey before 2.32 omits the CORS Origin header, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended CORS access-control checks and conduct cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks via a crafted web site.

Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.2 allows remote attackers to spoof the address bar, favicons, and document source, and perform updates in the context of arbitrary websites, by repeatedly setting document.location in the onunload attribute when linking to another website, a variant of CVE-2007-1092.

Mozilla Firefox before 3.6.25 and Thunderbird before 3.1.17 on Mac OS X do not consider .jar files to be executable files, which allows user-assisted remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via a crafted file. Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in Mozilla Firefox before 3.5.17 and 3.6.x before 3.6.14, and SeaMonkey before 2.0.12, allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of arbitrary users for requests that were initiated by a plugin and received a 307 redirect to a page on a different web site.

Mozilla Firefox 3.0.10, and possibly other versions, detects http content in https web pages only when the top-level frame uses https, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary web script, in an https site's context, by modifying an http page to include an https iframe that references a script file on an http site, related to "HTTP-Intended-but-HTTPS-Loadable (HPIHSL) pages."

Race condition in the JavaScript Engine component

updater.exe in Mozilla Firefox before 41.0 and Firefox ESR 38.x before 38.3 on Windows allows local users to write to arbitrary files by conducting a junction attack and waiting for an update operation by the Mozilla Maintenance Service.

A vulnerability exists where if a user opens a locally saved HTML file, this file can use file: URIs to access other files in the same directory or sub-directories if the names are known or guessed. The Fetch API can then be used to read the contents of any files stored in these directories and they may uploaded to a server. It was demonstrated that in combination with a popular Android messaging app, if a malicious HTML attachment is sent to a user and they opened that attachment in Firefox, due to that app's predictable pattern for locally-saved file names, it is possible to read attachments the victim received from other correspondents. This vulnerability affects Firefox ESR < 60.8, Firefox < 68, and Thunderbird < 60.8.

Heap-based buffer overflow in the read_u32 function in Mozilla Firefox before 29.0, Firefox ESR 24.x before 24.5, Thunderbird before 24.5, and SeaMonkey before 2.26 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and application crash) via a crafted JPEG image.

The s_mp_div function in lib/freebl/mpi/mpi.c in Mozilla Network Security Services (NSS) before 3.21, as used in Mozilla Firefox before 44.0, improperly divides numbers, which might make it easier for remote attackers to defeat cryptographic protection mechanisms by leveraging use of the (1) mp_div or (2) mp_exptmod function.

Using SVG filters that don't use the fixed point math implementation on a target iframe, a malicious page can extract pixel values from a targeted user. This can be used to extract history information and read text values across domains. This violates same-origin policy and leads to information disclosure. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 52, Firefox ESR < 45.8, Thunderbird < 52, and Thunderbird < 45.8.

The Resource Timing API incorrectly revealed navigations in cross-origin iframes. This is a same-origin policy violation and could allow for data theft of URLs loaded by users. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 57, Firefox ESR < 52.5, and Thunderbird < 52.5.

The SillMap::readFace function in FeatureMap.cpp in Libgraphite in Graphite 2 1.2.4, as used in Mozilla Firefox before 43.0 and Firefox ESR 38.x before 38.6.1, mishandles a return value, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (missing initialization, NULL pointer dereference, and application crash) via a crafted Graphite smart font.

Limitations on the URIs allowed to WebExtensions by the browser.windows.create API can be bypassed when a pipe in the URL field is used within the extension to load multiple pages as a single argument. This could allow a malicious WebExtension to open privileged about: or file: locations. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 64.

WebExtensions with the appropriate permissions can attach content scripts to Mozilla sites such as accounts.firefox.com and listen to network traffic to the site through the "webRequest" API. For example, this allows for the interception of username and an encrypted password during login to Firefox Accounts. This issue does not expose synchronization traffic directly and is limited to the process of user login to the website and the data displayed to the user once logged in. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 60.

When a HTTPS pages was embedded in a HTTP page, and there was a service worker registered for the former, the service worker could have intercepted the request for the secure page despite the iframe not being a secure context due to the (insecure) framing. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 84.

By using the reflected URL in some special resource URIs, such as chrome:, it is possible to inject stylesheets and bypass Content Security Policy (CSP). This vulnerability affects Firefox < 63.
